Umi Vaughan is an artist and experimental ethnographer
who explores dance, creates photographs and performances,
as well as writes about African Diaspora culture. As a
doctoral candidate in anthropology at the University of
Michigan, Umi studies popular music and performance in
Cuba in relation to social transformation. To purchase
