In 2007, a major story-collecting effort was launched across the country. The StoryCorps Griot Initiative began capturing the voices of everyday African Americans across the country and broadcasting their stories on National Public Radio (NPR). The Museum of the African Diaspora (MoAD) partnered with the StoryCorps Griot Initiative to record the stories of African Americans living here in the Northern California.
